The new Lone Ranger movie

Even though we the fans have no say in the new Lone Ranger movie, I'm still curious to know if people want to see a re-telling of the origin story or a whole new adventure. Please leave your comments here. What would you like to see in a new movie?

I would like to see a new adventure and it needs to be done the way the Lone Ranger movie in 1956 was done with good drama and action. The Lone Ranger and Tonto has to be played by actor who will portray them as they are meant to be play. Not the modeern revisionist way.

No big origin story. The movie should begin with action involving the Ranger and Tonto. It should be a good story involving our heros, not a story about our heros, from the beginning.

If the origin is dealt with, it should be as flashbacks.

I don't think they need to do an origin story, but I sure would like to see an new one. Heck, I know this sounds a little juvenile I hope they leave the cursing to a minanum. At least not have the Lone Ranger Cuss, since he's got the white hat.

It doesn't have to be just the retelling of how the Lone Ranger came into existence. But, there would have to be a brief explanation, for people who don't know the story, either in flashback or some other manner. I enjoyed the brief opening & explanation in the 1958 movie, "The Lone Ranger and the Lost City of Gold". Just enough to explain how The Lone Ranger story began. Then a new adventure after that brief explanation. I agree with another writer, there's no need for any cussing or excessive blood & guts and please, no sex. It would be totally against the morals of The Lone Ranger and totally unnecessary. Please, no love interest for the guys, no woman replacement for the character of Tonto, etc.

A recap of how he became the Lone Ranger might be good, but the movie should be a new adventure with believable characters in the title roles. A good solid well done story could bring the westerns back.

Retell the story ?? Well there is at least one generation out there that doesn't know any thing about the Lone Ranger . They could start the film out by just him reminiscing about his past as a younger Lone Ranger (black & white episodes) , then go into the new film . From what I understand , it will be like the 1st Zorro movie , where the mask gets handed down to a younger person .

If they did the story any other way than the way Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels did the films , it would be like slapping them in the face . No cussing , No sex , and if they make Tonto a woman , i won't waste my time and money to see it !!

As far as I'm concerned, I just wish they would just hurry up and make the new movie. It seems like we've been hearing about a new Lone Ranger movie since the first new Zorro movie came out. A second Zorro has been released, but still no Lone Ranger. They must still be concerned about the problems some people had with the 1981 version. As for me, I would just like to see the Lone Ranger on the movie screen again.

I'd like to see a new L. R. Movie, but the character must be played by an actor who has the same build and appearance of the "Ranger" we remember, Clayton Moore, the voice must have the same delivery as he and Brace Beemer had, after all Clayton copied Beemer's delivery from the old radio programs. That's part of the "myth", the way the "Ranger" sounded. I met Clayton here in Albuquerque in 1984. He was talking to a group of children for a fund raiser. He still spoke like the Ranger and I was so proud to have him sign an 8x10 color glossy of him on Silver to me. I was also so proud when he told the children at the end of the program to "be sure and mind you Moms and Dads and be sure and say your prayers to Jesus each night. I look forward to seeing the "Lone Ranger" in Heaven some day.
And Tonto should stay "Tonto". No changes here either. I'm 66 years old, I remember the old radio programs from the '40's and I remember seeing the first TV show of the Lone Ranger, probably in 1948. Exciting.
I really like your site.

I would like to see an origin story to introduce the characters to those who aren't familiar with them. Then, some new adventures could be done in sequels.

with the technology thats avaailable now I dont see why they dont make a computer animation using the same actors and there voices then we would all be pleased. Idont want to see any changes to the costumes and I think an native american has to play Tonto. An origin story? only if it was the first three episodes and not the two minute thing begining the Lone Ranger and the lost city of gold. Also the william tell over ture is a must my daughter who is nine was most dissapointed with this film because this music was sadly lacking
